Air Tightness Testing

Air Tightness Testing is a requirement of Part L of the Building Regulations which sets energy efficiency standards for new homes and requires that new dwellings are tested for air leakage. Through our network of ATTMA accredited engineer we are able to offer competitive pricing nationwide.

What is Air Tightness Testing?

Air tightness testing, air pressure testing or air leakage testing all refer to the level of air loss through the building envelope. Air testing essentially assesses the amount of penetrations in the building, such as cracks, holes and gaps that allow air to escape and thus reduce the ability of the building to retain heat. Achieving appropriate air tightness is vital to the energy efficiency of the building. If done right, there will be significant benefits in terms of reduced heating costs.
